Community guidelines

MamaOra Fertility Tribe™

MamaOra Fertility Tribe™ is a space for African women navigating fertility, preconception, IVF, assisted reproduction and reproductive health. These guidelines keep it safe, honest and kind for everyone. By joining, you agree to follow them.

1. Be kind

Every woman here is in a different season. Speak to others the way you would want to be spoken to on your hardest day. No judgement, shaming, mocking or arguments that turn personal.

2. Respect every path

Some women are trying naturally, some are doing IVF, some are using donors or surrogacy, some are preserving their fertility, and some are still deciding. Every path is valid here, whatever a woman’s age, relationship status, faith or background.

3. What is shared here, stays here

Do not screenshot, forward or repeat anything another member shares, and do not share anyone’s name, photo or story outside the Tribe. Only share what you are comfortable with. You never have to reveal more than you want to.

4. This is not medical advice

Conversations and education in the Tribe are for understanding and support. They do not replace your own doctor. Share experiences, not prescriptions: never tell another member to start, stop or change a medication or treatment. Always check with your healthcare provider.

5. No selling or promotion by members

Members may not advertise, sell, recruit, or promote clinics, products, supplements, “fertility cures” or businesses, and may not send other members private messages to sell to them. Recommendations are welcome when someone asks, shared honestly and without payment. Official MamaOra sessions and updates are shared only by the admins.

6. Share information you can stand behind

Fertility attracts a lot of myths and miracle claims. If you share information, say where it came from. Our team may correct or remove misleading claims to protect members.

7. Share good news with care

We celebrate with each other, and we also remember that someone reading may be grieving. When sharing a pregnancy, a positive test or a birth, start your message with a short heads-up so women can choose when to read it. Do the same before sharing about loss or other difficult experiences.

8. Keep it on topic

Keep conversations focused on fertility, reproductive health and support. No political or religious debates, chain messages, or unrelated forwards.

9. Look after yourself

If you are in crisis or feel unsafe, please contact a medical professional, your local emergency services or someone you trust straight away. The Tribe is a place of support, but it cannot provide emergency care.

10. How we keep the Tribe safe

Our team may remove messages or members who break these guidelines, with or without warning, depending on how serious it is. If something makes you uncomfortable, message a group admin privately or email mamaoracommunity@gmail.com.

Thank you for helping make this a place where women can talk, learn and grow together.
